General Club Questions

Shark Coast FC is Volusia County’s only USL pathway club, providing a complete development system from beginner youth players to pre-professional and professional opportunities. The club combines the legacy of Southeast Volusia Soccer Club (SVSC) with the competitive pathway of Current FC.

We offer a full pathway for players of all levels:

  • Lil Groms (ages 3–4)
  • Community Recreational League (ages 5–14)
  • Futures Development Program
  • Competitive Youth Teams (U9–U19)
  • USL Academy (pre-professional pathway)
  • UPSL Men’s & Women’s Teams
  • USL League Two (pre-professional level)

Our pathway allows players to progress step-by-step from youth soccer to higher levels, including:

  • State and national competition
  • College recruiting exposure
  • USL Academy development
  • Opportunities to play in UPSL and USL League Two
  • Professional contracts for top players

The club has already helped over 50 players reach college soccer and multiple players sign professional contracts.

Player Development

We provide programs for players from ages 3 through U19, with clear progression at every level.

Most competitive teams train:

  • 2x per week (Tuesday & Thursday)
  • Wednesday sessions (Stations or Futsal)
  • Optional Monday small-sided pickup

Weekend games and tournaments are also part of the schedule.

Yes. We offer:

  • Small group training
  • 1-on-1 sessions
  • Goalkeeper-specific training
  • Supplemental high-performance sessions

These are encouraged for players looking to accelerate development.

  • Stations: Skill-based training (speed, agility, ball mastery, finishing)
  • Futsal: Small-sided games focused on touches, creativity, and decision-making

This rotates weekly and is a core part of development.

Competition & Travel

Depending on age and level, teams compete in:

  • GCF (local leagues)
  • FSPL (Florida State Premier League)
  • National League (NL)
  • UPSL (Men’s & Women’s)
  • USL Academy and USL League Two
  • SVSC (younger teams): Local travel (within ~90 minutes)
  • Competitive Youth: Statewide travel (up to ~4 hours)
  • Elite teams: Regional and national tournaments

Yes. Teams participate in multiple tournaments throughout the year, including:

  • State Cup
  • College showcases
  • Regional and national events
  • Club-hosted tournaments

Rosters & Flexibility

Yes. Guest playing and dual rostering are allowed and encouraged, as long as:

  • It is approved by club directors
  • It does not conflict with primary team commitments

College & Future Opportunities

Yes. We actively support players with:

  • College showcases
  • Recruiting guidance
  • Exposure through high-level competition

The club has already assisted in placing 50+ players into college programs.

Game Day & Club Experience

Most activities take place at:

  • New Smyrna Beach Sports Complex
  • Fields 1–3 and stadium

Registration & Costs

Yes. All players are required to purchase their assigned team uniforms through official club vendors.
