Shark Coast FC is the evolution of soccer in Volusia County, uniting decades of local tradition with a modern, nationally connected pathway for players at every level. Built on strong community roots and driven by opportunity, Shark Coast FC exists to develop players, grow the game, and represent New Smyrna Beach and Volusia County with pride.
Our Roots in the Community
For more than 30 years, South Volusia Soccer Club (SVSC) has been a cornerstone of youth soccer in New Smyrna Beach. SVSC helped introduce generations of players to the game, fostering participation, development, and a lifelong connection to soccer throughout the community.
As the local soccer landscape evolved, so did the need for expanded opportunities beyond traditional youth play, particularly for players seeking higher levels of competition and clearer long-term pathways.
The Growth of Current FC
To meet that need, SVSC partnered with Current FC, launching a competitive platform designed to bridge the gap between youth soccer, college preparation, and the pre-professional game. Together, the clubs expanded programming, introduced competitive youth teams, and built men’s and women’s teams capable of competing at a higher level.
This partnership laid the foundation for a unified club model—one that could serve players from their first touch through their most competitive years.
The Evolution into Shark Coast FC
Shark Coast FC represents the next chapter.
By unifying SVSC and Current FC under a single identity, Shark Coast FC brings together grassroots development, competitive youth programs, and men’s and women’s teams into one clear, connected pathway. The club now operates with a shared mission, shared standards, and a long-term vision focused on opportunity, progression, and sustainability.
With this evolution, Shark Coast FC officially joined the United Soccer League (USL) ecosystem—aligning the club with a nationally recognized development structure spanning youth, pre-professional, and professional soccer.
