Every journey has a beginning, and for Shark Coast FC, the summer of 2026 marked the start of something much bigger than a single season.
This year, Shark Coast FC proudly competed in its inaugural USL League Two campaign, bringing one of North America’s premier pre-professional soccer leagues to Volusia County. While the final standings only tell part of the story, the true success of the season can be measured by the foundation that was built both on and off the field.
A New Chapter for Soccer in Volusia County
When Shark Coast FC took the field for its first USL League Two match, it represented more than the launch of a new team. It represented years of planning, growth, and a commitment to creating opportunities for local players to compete at the highest levels without leaving home.
As the Home for Local Talent, Shark Coast FC exists to provide a pathway for players from youth soccer to college and ultimately the professional game. USL League Two is a critical piece of that vision, offering elite competition, exposure to professional scouts, and an environment where players can continue developing during the summer months while maintaining their collegiate eligibility.
Building More Than a Team
Throughout the season, our players competed against some of the Southeast Division’s top clubs, earning valuable experience while proudly representing New Smyrna Beach and Volusia County.
There were memorable victories, hard-fought draws, difficult lessons, and moments that will become part of the club’s history. Every match helped shape the identity of Shark Coast FC and demonstrated the competitive spirit that defines our organization.
More importantly, the season brought our community together.
Families filled the stands, youth players watched future role models compete, volunteers dedicated countless hours behind the scenes, and local businesses stepped forward to support a club that represents the future of soccer in our region.
The Beginning of the Road2Pro
Our USL League Two team is more than a summer team—it’s a vital step in our Road2Pro development pathway.
Players within Shark Coast FC now have a clear progression from recreational soccer through competitive youth teams and into pre-professional competition. That opportunity didn’t exist in Volusia County just a few years ago.
Today, local players no longer have to leave home to pursue their dreams. They can develop, compete, and represent their community while preparing for collegiate and professional opportunities.
That’s what this club was built to accomplish.

Looking Ahead
While our inaugural season is coming to a close, this is only the beginning.
Preparations for the 2027 USL League Two season are already underway as Shark Coast FC continues building one of Florida’s premier player development clubs. We’ll continue investing in our players, expanding opportunities throughout the community, and creating an even bigger and better matchday experience for supporters.
The foundation has been laid.
The future is bright.
And the best is still to come.
